End of Daylight Saving Time

I was surprised by how fast time flew today at work. I had a stack of things to do and I'd barely scratched the surface when I glanced up at the clock. I needed to hurry home if I wanted to be at the house by the time the kids got home. I locked my office door and passed a colleague bringing in her lunch. I walked past the faculty room and noticed a lot of people eating lunch. Odd at the hour I was leaving. Still, I didn't have much time to consider it. I ran out to my van and pulled out of the parking lot, quickly turning onto the road.

Fortunately, the state shrub of Utah is the orange construction cone which slowed me enough to think things through. I barely accomplished anything. Time seemed to fly. People were taking their lunch at 2:00 in the afternoon. I didn't trust the time on my cell phone. I couldn't remember if I'd changed the time on my car clock. I finally called Scott, the man who knows that when I call, I usually need him to put on his chain mail and shiny armor because I'm in need of help (locked the keys in the car, power's out and I can't open the garage hence, the house, I'm taking a child to the emergency room, etc.)

"What time is it?"

"What time is it?" he clarified.

"That's what I said. What time is it?"

"1:00. Why?" I could hear him smiling. I think he knew."

"Nothing. I'm just turning to go back to work. Avert your eyes. Nothing to see here. Nothing at all."

It was a new breed of walk-of-shame returning to work after telling everybody to have a great night.

I hate Daylight Saving Time.

I thought The Boy missed the bus - but no, I had just forgotten to reset the alarm clock.

You are not alone.

I shall not mock. Karma will kick me in the but if I do...

And, Sunday I flew to Milwaukee (a new time zone), so I lost an hour to daylight savings, then an hour to the time zone. I have no clue what time it is...

Oy - not a fan either.

I am still freaking out everyday when I think I left work early because it is actually semi-light outside. GAH

it's kinda nice that all our fancy phones change it for us huh? oh wait, you probably don't have one that does since you missed the memo, hahahaha no, but I feel you - though I do love the light in the AM, do hate the sun that disappears at 5. if u move to Arizona, they don't do it there. or Hawaii.. I pick Hawaii over Arizona.
